Conveniently located between Wellfleet and Provincetown, we also offer trips out of the Orleans area for those on the upper Cape or off Cape–we are worth the drive. A little bit of preparation makes your Cape Cod fishing charter in Truro, Massachusetts, even more rewarding. Reel Deal Fishing Charters has three fully equipped vessels that carry up to six passengers each. Each of our boats has the latest electronics for fishing success, as well as safety. To help you get ready for your trip, we provide the following information on the cost of fishing charters, our boats, and for the best times to fish for your favorites.

Rates & Dates

Dates available from April 15 to Nov. 15 for fishing off Cape Cod.

A $100 deposit for half-day trips, $200 deposit for full-day striped bass trips and a $300 deposit for full-day tuna trips is required to secure your reservation, which is refundable if your trip is canceled due to weather or if you decide to cancel with at least 30 days’ notice. It is up to the captain to decide if your fishing charter will be canceled due to weather. While we do go out in the rain, wind speed and direction is the largest determining factor for cancelations. If we decide your trip should be canceled due to inclement weather, we will do our best to accommodate you.

An additional deposit is required when reserving multiple days or more than one boat. Be sure to ask about our shark fishing charters!

Do you have more than six people in your group? No problem! We have three boats, so we can take out multiple groups of six. These charters are great for reunions and other celebrations.

We also have a limited number of sets of rain gear available. If the weather looks wet and you have forgotten your coat, no problem. Just ask and we will bring along a set for you.

• Groundfish trip (haddock/pollock) rates include filleting of up to 10 fish per person.
• Want a 6-hour or 12-hour trip? Custom charters can be arranged upon request.

Our captains are happy to fillet your fish at the end of your striped bass or tuna trip. Tips are appreciated. You are welcome to keep the racks if you would like. However, we do not chop up racks due to the wear and tear it puts on our fillet knifes.

Our Boats

33′ Invincible Open Fisherman, Done Deal

In 2018, our 18th season in the fishing charter business, we celebrated with the purchase of our 33’ Invincible Open Fisherman, center-console, offshore fishing machine, powered with twin Mercury Verado 350s. This vessel, Done Deal, is described as one of the fastest, driest, best riding fishing boats and is equipped with top-of-the-line, high-definition Garmin electronics, including the 12″ touchscreen GPS chart plotter, radar, and depth sounder. Other features include satellite weather, satellite music, satellite phone, VHF marine radio, and EPIRB, as well as live bait wells, outriggers, and night vision lighting. Our boat is fully equipped with all required Coast Guard safety equipment. Please let us know if you are bringing children (who weigh less than 90 pounds) on board so that we have an adequate number of child-rated life vests. Please note the special rates for fishing on this vessel.

26′ SeaCraft Master Angler, Reel Deal 3

We celebrated our 13th season in the fishing charter business with the purchase of our second 26’ SeaCraft Master Angler center-console, offshore fishing machine, powered with twin Mercury Verado 250s. Similar to its light blue twin, this vessel is equipped with top-of-the-line, high-definition Garmin electronics, including the 12″ touchscreen GPS chart plotter, radar, and depth sounder. Other features include CD player, cellular phone, and VHF marine radio, as well as live bait wells, outriggers, and night vision lighting. Our boat is fully equipped with all required Coast Guard safety equipment. 26′ SeaCraft Master Angler, Reel Deal II

In 2010, our 10th season in the fishing charter business, we celebrated with the purchase of our new 26’ SeaCraft Master Angler, center-console, offshore fishing machine, powered with twin Mercury Verado 250s. This vessel, Reel Deal 3, is equipped with top-of-the-line, high-definition Garmin electronics, including the 12″ touchscreen GPS chart plotter, radar, and depth sounder. Where We Fish

The majority of our trips leave out of Pamet Harbor in Truro, conveniently located between Provincetown and Wellfleet. This location offers quick access to the best fishing grounds of outer Cape Cod.

Depending on the current fishing conditions, we may also depart from other boat launches on Cape Cod, including Orleans. Your departure location will be confirmed the day before your trip.

Field & Stream magazine notes that “Cape Cod has become what many saltwater anglers consider the premier striped bass fishing destination in the world.” We certainly agree.

What We Catch & How

Our specialties include striped bass and blues, Bluefin tuna, and black sea bass. We tend to follow these general rules of thumb for finding fish in season:

• Stripers – Mid-May through mid-October
• Blues – Mid-June through September
• Bluefin Tuna – June through early November (Peak Season is Late Summer & Fall)
• Black Sea Bass/Scup – May & Early June (Other Dates by Request If Available; Recreational Black Sea Bass Season begins Saturday, May 19, 2018)
• Sharks (Mostly Blue Sharks) – Mid-July through September
• Ground fish (Haddock / Pollock) – Mid-April through May. Other Dates by Request as Available

Captain Bobby Rice has an extensive assortment of rods, reels, and tackle equipment. He even makes his own jigs to get just the right size, shape, and color. We are also a member of the RONZ Pro Staff. Casting RONZ soft baits can be just the right trick for large bass and Bluefin tuna.

Van Staal is our gear of choice as this company delivers superior cast, high durability, and excellent fight. We also have a selection of jigging rods and reels for those rare occasions during the summer dog days when wire is the key.

Fishing Regulations

The current recreational fishing regulations for Massachusetts are:

• Striped Bass–28″ Minimum, 1 Fish per Person, New Regulation for 2015
• Bluefish–No Minimum, 10 Fish per Person
• Bluefin Tuna–3 Fish (27″ to Less than 47″), 1 Fish (47″ to Less than 73″) per Trip *NMFS Updated 4/26/2018-With respect to large Bluefin tuna (greater than 73” curved fork length) permitted to be retained by our vessels under current regulations are the sole property of the vessel and captain.
• Black Sea Bass–15″ Minimum, 5 Fish per Person
• Scup–10″ Minimum, 45 Fish per Person, (May & June)
• Haddock (Ground fish)–17″ Minimum, 12 Fish per Person
• Pollock–No minimum, no limit
• Cod–catch and release only

Please Note: If one of our rod and reel setups is dropped overboard by a member of your group, then replacement value for the setup will be added to the cost of your trip.
